Our Story
From a pilot program to a statewide suite
TechShare was created in 2004 with a straightforward idea: counties shouldn’t have to solve the same technology problems in isolation. By pooling resources and sharing the cost of development, local governments could access enterprise-grade software at a fraction of what a commercial vendor would charge.
What began as a pilot program has grown into a comprehensive suite of integrated justice and government management solutions — serving 62 counties across Texas, from large metropolitan jurisdictions to small rural communities.
In 2019, the TechShare Local Government Corporation was formally established, enabling counties to access the software through an interlocal agreement. This structure keeps TechShare accountable to its members — not to shareholders.
2004 — TechShare Founded
A pilot program launches on the belief that counties can collaborate to build better technology together.
2004–2018 — Suite Expands
Court, Prosecutor, Jail, Magistration, Indigent Defense and more developed in partnership with county users.
2019 — LGC Established
The TechShare Local Government Corporation is formed, enabling counties to join through an interlocal agreement.
2026 — Growing Suite
New solutions added annually based on county needs. 62 counties served across Texas and beyond.
