The Public Safety Assessment is an evidence-based tool that predicts the likelihood that an individual will appear for their court appointments and refrain from new criminal activity while on pretrial release. It is designed for use with adults 18 and older who have been arrested, booked into jail, and are awaiting case disposition.
Rather than relying solely on charge type or financial ability to post bond, the PSA gives magistrates objective, data-driven risk information at the point of decision — supporting more consistent and equitable pretrial outcomes across your county.
PSA is integrated directly within the TechShare Magistration portal via APIs, so risk scores are available to magistrates at the time of the hearing — no separate system, no extra steps.
